About Ornamental Excess

Ornamental Excess is a curated archive of vintage fashion, interiors, and accessories — selected for their provenance, rarity, and bold aesthetic.

Founded on the belief that style is storytelling, our pieces are chosen not just for their beauty, but for the eras and emotions they evoke. From avant-garde apparel to sculptural decor, every item in our collection has a past — and is styled for a modern future.

We blend high-fashion sensibilities with editorial presentation, offering clients access to distinctive pieces that spark dialogue, elevate environments, and celebrate the art of excess with intention.

Meet the Founder

Hope Misterek is a fashion, wardrobe, prop, product, and set stylist operating in New York City. An industry veteran who began her career in Seattle, she has since gone on to make a name for herself on both the west and east coasts. Through the years she has lent her artistry to fashion editorials, print campaigns, and commercial advertisements for high profile clients such as Marie Claire Korea, Elle Vietnam, Vogue, InStyle, Lucky, Tommy Hilfiger, Vera Wang, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, and the Ritz Carlton.

With a confident eye, Hope tells an honest story with her styling. Her interpretations have unmatched nuance and depth.  She lives for the luxury of excess, filling up the empty spaces with exuberant and subtle details allowing the eyes and mind to travel.

Her style lays in this juxtaposition: the mixing of high and low, vintage and new, statement pieces with everyday items that define who and what we are.
